Next time I make one of the these, I will cast on and bind off with a smaller needle then go up a size to knit the rest of the scarf.
18/02/08: Started this scarf 2 days ago after a quick visit to Melbourne, spending money that I don’t have. Knitted about 5cm and kept on thinking “the sides really don’t look right” but like the idiot I am, I kept right on knitting anyway. Got to 30cm and decided that I just couldn’t live with how wrong the edges looked so I came onto to Ravelry to see where I was stuffing it up. Now I have to frog what I have done and start again because I have figured out that I was holding the yarn incorrectly whilst performing the slips purlwise. Knit and learn.
19/02/08: Started it again tonight after realising I was just being too much of a perfectionist with the edges - back to about 40cm length and I AM LOVING IT!!!!!
02/03/08: Nearly finished - only about 30 minutes of knitting left and it is sooooo long - it’ll be taller than me when it is finished (171 cm). I put some AA batteries in one photo for scale but it didn’t really work because of the angle I took the photo at and also because you can’t see all of the photo due to the cropping that Ravelry automatically does to the thumbnail pics. It is so beautiful.
07/03/08: I finished knitting this a couple of days ago but still had the ends to weave in. Did that tonight. I am so incredibly happy with my colour choices and how beautiful the scarf has turned out. All 2.12 metres (7’) of it! Now I want to make another one.
Title Song: Crimson And Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells
Now I don’t hardly know her
But I think I could love her
Crimson and clover
Well if she come walkin’ over
Now I been waitin’ to show her
Crimson and clover, over and over
Yeah, my mind’s such a sweet thing
I wanna do everything, what a beautiful feeling
Crimson and clover, over and over
Crimson and clover, over and over
Crimson and clover, over and over
Crimson and clover, over and over
Crimson and clover, over and over
Crimson and clover, over and over
Crimson and clover, over and over
