It doesn’t show so much once stuffed, but crocheting it I realized Rosie has flat round bottom, cylindrical body, hemispheric top. Not really what I was looking for.
But a link in the pattern leads to the Ideal Crochet Sphere - that’s the ideal for me! A ball-shaped pig, the byword for fatness. We always joke about being in good shape: a perfectly spherical one!

I made the 18 rows sphere, the one that matched the top shaping in the Rosie pattern. I just made her belly as round as her head :)

My sphere ended up not so ideal, full of bumps where there are increases and decreases. I have to say I didn’t stuff it a lot because I wanted a soft and squishy thing, maybe more stuffing would have made it more round in the end.

Non si vede granché quando è imbottita, ma nel farla mi son resa conto che Rosie è fatta a panettone: fondo piatto, corpo cilindrico, sopra semisferico. Non proprio quello che volevo. Ma un link nel pattern mi ha portato alla Ideal Crochet Sphere: l’ideale per me! Un porcellino fatto a palla, l’emblema del grasso. Scherziamo sempre sul fatto di essere in forma perfetta, perfettamente sferica!

Ho fatto la sfera da 18 giri, quella che corrisponde alla sagomatura della parte superiore nel modello di Rosie. Le ho solo fatto la panza rotonda come la sua testa :)

La mia sfera non è uscita poi tanto ideale, è piena di bitorzoli dove ci sono aumenti e diminuzioni. C’è da dire che non l’ho imbottita molto, perché volevo che fosse soffice e morbidosa, forse imbottirla di più l’avrebbe resa più rotonda alla fine.
