My hook is a G6 - 4.25mm

I can never make anything until I figure out what it will be when it grows up…. thinking…thinking….

I found this yarn deeeeep in my stash and did a happy dance. This is old, discontinued yarn that used to be a huge favorite of mine. I’ve decided that a case for my sunglasses in these beautiful colors would be awesome. I’m adding 4 extra repeats of row 1 at the bottom and 4 extra at the top too. I have my four rows completed and I’m ready to start with the video on row 1. My four extra rows are 1 inch x a smidge less than 4 inches long.

I found something helpful! I ditched the sticky note I was using and just drew an arrow with a sharpy pen on my ruler. It is on of those metal rulers with the cork on the back so it stays put and doesn’t slide around. I was using the ruler to mark my place on the chart so it just made since to add the arrow to it and just turn the ruler each row.

Okay, I just finished and it measures 3.75 inches x 5.75 inches. That is actually the exact length of my sunglasses so I need to make it a little longer. I am going to add two more rows on top in gold and then one in the red. Now it is 6.5 inches long.

I wasn’t sure what to do when I wanted to start the first stitch of the last row in the red. I ended up taking out the last stitch of the previous row and doing a color change there. I pulled through the last loop with the red and then did the chain 1 in the red and I was able to work the next row all in red with no problems. yay.

Now I’ve drawn out a design on graph paper that I’m going to make for the back of my glasses case. I hope I’m doing this right! I drew out a rectangle that is 15 x 26 and drew out “D + C” for Donna +(Loves) Chris. September 1st is our 23rd Anniversary and we are going out of town on a small trip. Maybe I’ll have it done by then. Now I really have to watch those arrows!

Okay, I got to row 8 and I’ve realized my design isn’t going to work. I need to make my letters bigger so they will be more clear. It looks like one square is not enough space between and inside the letters. Back to the drawing board.

Okay, I was grumbling but I did come up with something. I’ll just have to add in another color and since all I have that is sparkly in another color is Spangle in Sparkling Water I’ll have to double it up. That should be interesting. I’ll just do the drop and grab method for that part (which is the plus in the middle) God help me.
