This kit is currently only available at www.marymaxim.com and not available as a pattern alone. You have to buy the whole kit (yarn and all) to get the pattern. Trust me, I tried. I wanted to use my own yarn but I do have to say, the yarn I got from them is soft.

If you bought this pattern/kit please let them know when you find mistakes because they say they have not heard about mistakes in the pattern from any other people and it has been in their catalog for years. This pattern needs editing and errors fixed so let them know about them.

Okay, I admit it. I’m a perfectionist and a little OCD. I can’t stand mistakes and I count stitches religiously. So I ripped this whole thing out and started over again on June 27th, 2014. I’m ready to give this another try. I’ve got my pencil and I’m going to let them know about every mistake.

Pattern Notes

Every time I start a round I look to the end of the round to see where it says to join to and place a marker there, unless it is obvious. I also mark joins if it isn’t obvious so I don’t accidentally think it is another stitch. That helps to avoid confusion later.

My notes here are stitch counts to help me for when I want to make this again. If you have the pattern it will make sense to you.

I’m starting over but leaving my original notes intact. I’m going to use an @ symbol to make where I’m currently at in my notes below.

Stitch counts:
r1: 16 (t+ch 1)
r2: 32
r3: 32
r4: 48
r5: 24 x - Cross Stitch tutorial
r6: 24 spaces
r7: 7 pattern repeats plus one last with join
r8: 8 shell sets
r9: 32 chain spaces
r10: 96 Stitches
r11: 96
r12: 96
r13: 48 x
r14: 48 sp
r15: 12
r16: small error on this row after beg cl, ch 1 work cl, ch 1 - only 5 times and then 1 cluster in next space. No chain after the last one for each set.
R17: 60 ch spaces
r18: 12 repeats @
r19: 7 chain spaces for each of the 12 repeats = 84 spaces

Row 20: The pattern gets a bit off here and I think it will continue to stay off count from here on… I believe the part in brackets should be repeated 5 x instead of 4 but the stitch counts for next row and onward seem be based on how it was written and will not be correct. Isn’t that swell?

Row 28: 40 pattern repeats around It is a good idea to occasionally review work for mistakes. This row is easy to mess up and not notice.

Row 30: This is a connect the dot type round so if previous row is right this one will be too.

(do not skip any stitches where it says to skip to get a count of 360) Marker every 30 stitches

Row 33: 358 //360

Row 35: …..not enough stitches to finish last repeat. // 45 repeats

I just ripped out these rows because the count is not working. There was not enough stitches to finish the repeat in row 35. I’m doing some math and going back to add some stitches in somewhere.
