Notes

I’m heading to Vogue Knitting Live NYC in a couple of weeks and I loved how my last fingering weight Guthrie turned out so much that I decided to knit another one so I’ll have one for Saturday and one for Sunday. clap

If you’d like to adapt to fingering weight it’s quite easy!

Swatch (in the round) with your chosen yarn + needle to achieve a fabric you like (I opted for 5’s on my last Guthrie so for fun I tried 6’s this time and really love the drape but like I said, SWATCH.)

Measure the stitches per inch in your swatch, let’s say it’s 6 stitches per inch, you multiply the number of stitches (6) by the inches in your desired bust circumference (let’s say it’s 38”) 6x 38= 228 stitches around for the bust. So now just select the size in the pattern which gets you to as close to that number as possible for the bust circumference, round up for more positive ease and round down for less.

Be sure to also measure your row gauge (vertical) so you will know if you need to repeat the pattern for added length in the yoke, body and sleeves. Simply follow the pattern which includes charts:instructions to add length where desired.
