super cute design. I’m making this for my parents who have decided to rent an apartment the summer in upstate NY. They will be “snowbirds” as they have a house in FL.

I made the snow and the bird’s eye with French knots. Left one round of edging off as I played yarn chicken with the red and lost. Had to redo with one less round. Made the ring by chaining 15 and then attached to the top.

Rated the pattern for an intermediate crocheter. If you are experienced in color work you should be fine. Note you have to follow the graph for color changes. I found it was worth taking 5 minutes to count the stitches for each color and write it on the graph. I also wrote the corresponding row numbers on the left side of the chart and crossed off those numbers on the right side. This helped me to keep track of what row I was on. Also, the pattern does not provide instruction on what to do with unused yarn. I decided to carry all unused yarn across the wrong side.
