Well. I have gotten behind in documenting my hats. Summer. ADD. Those are my excuses and I’m sticking to them! I’m still making the hats and I try to make sure I take a picture. But the whole purpose is lost if I don’t write about the hats as I finish them. Such as the reason this is titled 50/50 Bar Slouch. I don’t think the picture shows how yummy the colors of that first hat are. And how it made me wish constantly for a 50/50 bar. That yarn is interesting in that is is flattish. Almost ribbon-like. I loved how it felt. And I think it will be a nice spring/summer hat as it feels light-weight and airy.

I had some of that yarn left over and thought it would be fun as a strip in the next hat. That hat is mostly Giungla purple 50% Linen and 50% Viskose. I had a lot of that in my donated bag. It was fun, cool, to work with, too. I still have a bit of both of these yarns found in the donation bins at the Hugging Hats group-meeting home. (Talk about a Heaven! Think of a room full of all kinds of yarn, colors in separate bins, some specialty yarns in their own bins. A WHOLE BEDROOM OF YARN!!!!!) So don’t be surprised when it sneaks into other hats.

By the way, the pattern found at http://www.loomahat.com/mock-crochet-hat/ is so much fun! One has to be careful to keep the stitch loose or it can cause horrid neck pinches. But once I got used to doing that, these worked up very fast. What it is, essentially is wrapping three pegs at a time. That was not a good explanation. Go to the website I mentioned. Denise has it written and YouTubed and will make you feel quite confident.

Oh, and that last one is the same linen and pattern. The yarn is dyed in a natural pattern, much lighter than other parts, but it works up so nice together.

There may be more mock crochet patterned hats I will add as I find their picture and I’ll add them here, if I can remember.

Oops! I found another in my pics that is of this pattern and the same purple linen yarn listed above. Two things that happened that makes this hat special.

But first I need to tell you another part of my days lately. We have discovered an interesting way to supplement our meager monies around here. My husband discovered and taught my brother and me about mPoints (http://www.mplusrewards.com/). By playing the little apps and collecting points we were able to get a couple of Kindle Fires. Soon we were working with mPlaces (http://www.gomplaces.com/). Now we could work toward Amazon gift cards even easier. It was how I was able to in some way add Christmas/birthdays for a few of my people. And now we take polls/surveys for cash or gift cards. Through https://www.opinionoutpost.com/ , http://www.i-say.com/ , and of course mThoughts:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.surveysampling.mobile.mthoughts&hl=en Which was the vehicle that sent us looking into polls.

It is because of these and other polling kinds of websites I have been able to buy things at Amazon that I might not have otherwise done. Like the https://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?C=2KVQPKQSS2V7N&R=12... That was how I made the flower on that cute little hat. AND https://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?C=2KVQPKQSS2V7N&R=12... helped me make cool pom poms like the one on this hat.

And while I am at telling about products this one is very cool, too! https://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?C=2KVQPKQSS2V7N&R=12... It makes a quick hat even faster. I didn’t use it for these because I didn’t get it on time. And it would have only been useful after the the K1P1 part. But for straight knitting (loom) of probably the Mock Stitch or Three Step Stitch it would help in loosening those stitches. Some say that they use a Bic pen casing. But others have said that the opening is too small or has jagged bits that catch at the yarn going through. These are smooth and fantastic. I’ll mention these again on a couple other hats coming up. Thank you mPoints for my new toys!

The lavender hat below the flowered hat is the one I just finished. It is of that fun purple linen mixed with a lavender linen (I think, it had no label). I added a variegated yarn that made it more fun.
