25Aug2010: Practically nothing to say here. The pattern is great, and the yarn is highly recommended. ALSO, the yarn is almost an identical substitute in fiber content, for those of you trying to replace the discontinued yarn the pattern was made for.

1July2010: This is a very speshal gift for my man, who helped me enormously with something at work.

For those of you who are scientists: you know how things aren’t working (as usual)? but you keep trying over and over (incongruously)? and you’re hitting your head against the wall waiting for the rescue squad (or a better job, ha)??? Well, enter G., putting on his lab coat and marching up to my lab, sick of watching my proverbial head get lumpier and squishier. For that, he wins the ultimate gift I can give: a sweater.

He wants a year-round sweater, so we decided on a cotton-linen blend. The yarn is really lovely to work with, and so cool to the touch. This is my first Twist Collective pattern. It is ridiculously over-detailed, but hey.

By the way, I just despise tubular cast-on. At least the way Interweave Knits recommends to do it. It flares out and looks like molars on the edge (you know, how molar roots look??). I’m sick of tubular casting-on, learning once again that I think it looks messy, and re-casting on with k1,p1 long-tail cast-on. When will I learn my lesson?
