I would love to give this pattern a higher rating, but I cannot.

If there was a weight of yarn listed so as to better replicate the look of the original, that would be great. As would a gauge.

The pattern itself is easy, I would consider it an advanced beginner pattern.

I am working with two strands of Bulky weight yarn held together and it comes no where near to the look of fullness that the original project does. Also, I am not a fan of the color I chose and do not recommend this yarn for this project. It looks like I would be wearing a bunch of oatmeal on my neck. Literally.

Working with this yarn doubled up, the cowl is much larger than 30 inches around. It’s 78 inches around.

18 rounds came to 5 inches in height.

In the photos, the scarf is wrapped three times.
