July 13, 2010 -
This blanket was originally completed December 13, 2008. Modifications made July 13, 2010. The blanket was still pretty ruff to the touch compared to some of his other blankets, so while at walmart, i came across this really cute fabric, i sewed it to the back of the afghan and made a pillow with the left over fabric, he totes the blanket and the pillow EVERYWHERE!!!!!
So far, it is really easy, once you get the puff stich down so your needle doesnt get stuck, its a breeze from there! okay, i have the XYZ done, the X is a little off centered. but so far it looks great! :) will have pics up soon i promise.
if you notice, i’m using a size F needle, i dont have a D but it is working great.
Well, here is an update on this afghan journey. I RAN OUT OF YARN! So i went to the store to get some more… and they no longer sell it! soo… I think they are discontinuing it. I did find it on ebay for a new one. but man, what a journey! lol. ill be taking an updated picture soon :)
Wow, I’m almost done with this afghan, what a journey! my toddler keeps wanting to steal it from me! lol he goes my nee nee (his word for blanket) :) but…. i ran out of yarn again. so. it will be done soon.
My son demetrius loves this blanket, the key is to wash it after you are finnished to get it to loosen up the yarn to make it softer. He had his 2nd heart surgery December 22, 2008. He recovered nicely. He was sent home December 24, 2008. JUST TWO DAYS AFTER OPEN HEART SURGERY!!!! i updated the photos with pics of him with the blanket in the hospital. i hope you enjoy.
