One more time!

This yarn is perfect for this coat and I am making it for a new friend, Chris, whom nearly stole my Clasica Coat off my back:-)

So I am on a bit of a dead line so it’s a perfect project for the Colourmart Lovers fall contest! Chris would like to have the coat by mid December… it should be doable, especially since it coincides with the contest.. Motivation! Yeah!

Swatching!

I think I need to go down to a 5.5mm needle. 14 stitches is 4 inches on 6mm. I need closer to 16 stitches.

Sept 24th

We went out to Saskatchewan this weekend and it gave me LOTS of knitting time in the car! Got the one cone knit up and now am waiting on the Kone to arrive:-)

Oct. 5th

This is coming along nicely! Back and both sleeves are complete and washed and blocked. Just the fronts and the hood to do and I already have a good start to the fronts!

Back: 195 gr.
sleeves 260 gr (130 x’s 2)
Fronts 290 grams (145 x’s 2)

Oct. 11th

Fronts are now done and just have the hood and pockets to add! This seems to be a faster knit than the other 2 or maybe it’s just because of the CM contest and a deadline on my end. Either way, it’s almost done:-)

This yarn isn’t exactly the nicest to knit, it’s a bit like straw after a while but the after effect of washing is just yummy soft! LOVE how this looks and feels after a bath!

Oct. 13th

It’s all seamed and the hood is cast on!

Oct. 24th

The hood is done and looks great! Pockets and sewing in a bunch of loose ends this week while waiting for the buttons and it’s done:-)

Oct 28th

It’s done. Just need to add the buttons and button loops! :-)

I washed it yesterday and that was a chore because of the size and weight of it! I even tried to spin it in the front-loader but no go! Too wet and heavy for it so I had to use every towel in the house to remove excess water! It’s gonna take a while to dry!!

Nov. 5th

Procrastinated a little on the finishing of this sweater but am now done and it’s soaking again one last time!

Little details needed fudging because of the lack of sproing in this yarn but I’ve solved my problems and buttons are on and it’s DONE:-)
