Love the pattern:-)

This pattern would be perfect for Piuma but I want a black sweater!

Swatching on 5mm with OILED yarn! I just don’t have the patience right now to wash it all so a swatch will have to do! Such large needles seems pretty extreme for this yarn but we all know how much this stuff blooms!

My gauge is looking like 20 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches… I basically got the same gauge as when I swatched it prewashed knit on 4mm!!??

Pattern calls for 18 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches

5.5mm needles? or knit a larger size? Or both?

(Nope, 5.5mm is exactly what I need:-)

Dec. 30th

5.5mm is what I am going to knit this with. I didn’t swatch as I have already begun the neck with 5mm but switched to the larger size when I hit the end of the first 1/2 of the first chart.(I am just hoping that the neck isn’t too tight?) As for size? It’s the same chart for the 44 as the next size up so I will decide when I get to the end of it. (Might knit up a swatch today?)

I like the way this pattern is laid out and written! It’s easy to follow and print up what you need!<del> My row gauge is probably way off still so adding extra stitches/rows in the raglan should be fine as long as I have the right number of stitches for the bottom charts:-)

*I did swatch and 5.5mm needles is perfect after a wash! I guess that is the difference between prewashing the yarn and not… You have to knit this with large needles when oiled to give the yarn room to BLOOM! LOVING this!!

Jan. 5th

Just separated the sleeves last night and heading south! It looks terrible because of the stringy looking gauge with this yarn but I must have faith that it will bloom and look like my lovely swatch when I am done… but it IS difficult!

Still working on the first cone and have a ways to go before it dies…maybe another 2 cone sweater:-)

Jan 13th

Body = 187 grams:-)

I cast off the body yesterday and am ready for the sleeves! I decided to wash the body just to see what it really looks like and it’s gorgeous! All my stringy, way too big stitches filled in and now is absolutely perfect:-)

I am knitting this exactly as written with the exception on BO in I-cord.

Feb 26th

Back at this now and just have the chart to do on the sleeves. It’s hard to get motivated for some reason but I am not casting anything on till this gets done!! HONEST! (I think I might be burned out on cables…???)

Feb 28th

It’s done! I just need to tuck in a few ends and give it a bubble bath! (I’ll measure the sleeves before washing too for all those wanting to knit this oiled!)

I have about 50 grams left of 2 cones:-)

The sweater weighs 248 grams.
