The needle size was left out because I substitute the yarn used in the pattern. I had to do a swatch to check the guage for the yarn before deciding to use it to knit the shorts. It did help that I had already did the swatch when I knit a matching top with the same yarn. The yarns used in the photos is an old-discontinued brand that did not have the gauge and needle size listed on the packaging which is another reason why I knit a swatch.
The only thing I have left to do is purchase 5 small buttons for the front packet. Other than that they are done and I am happy with the result.
It is a personal accomplishment for me to knit a garment (two actually/top and bottom) is something I challenged myself to do as well. Completing them both (and in a relatively short period of time) is an added bonus of satisfaction.
The set is a gift for my niece who will be graduating high school and attending college. I am very proud of her. <3
