Notes

Made this in 8ply as I find worsted too heavy for Sydney winters, using 4mm needle for the main part of the garment. This gave me a gauge of 22sts=10cm, which would have made it too small in my chosen yarn, even in the largest size. I also want to wear this as a jacket, so I don’t want either the body or the sleeve tops to be too small.

So, using some measurements for the largest size, I worked more increases on the raglans to make the armholes longer and the body and sleeve tops wider, getting to a total of 340 sts before dividing for the sleeves and body. After picking up 18sts on both sides of the body for the underarms, 412 sts. (115cm (280 sts) for the whole of the body (140+70+70) and 40cm (66+18 to be picked up later = 84 sts) for each of the sleeves.) I made the necessary decreases on the sleeves to get them down to my wrist measurement - 46 sts at the castoff edge.

On reflection, I could have made the body smaller, as the yarn relaxed a lot when it was pressed gently. But it’s cozy and comfortable and warm and the colours are great - thanks to the custom dye job by knitabulous. My only beef with my decisions is that the colours probably don’t do full justice to the detail of the feather-and-fan edgings.
