Notes

I used Tin Can Knits Flax as my base pattern with the following changes:

  • I cast on an additional 3 sts for the underarm, which adds 6 total sts to the body (making the count 200 sts, which was easy for my charts) and 3 sts to each sleeve
  • I grabbed what I thought was a US 8 16” before I headed to my brother’s for the Super Bowl but it turns out it was a 7. I made do--sleeves are done on 7’s and 6’s for the ribbing.
  • The ribbing on the bottom of the body is most assuredly not 1.5”. It’s a borderline irresponsible 7/8” and doesn’t lie flat when I’m not wearing this sweater. You do you but I get SO BORED with ribbing.
  • Um. The charts.

Final finished measurements:
40.5” around body
25.5” from neckline to bottom ribbing
15” around upper arm
17.75” from underarm to end of sleeve

The moon and stars above the theater seats was a chart I made. The rest of the sweater, I charted out during a couple of sleepless nights. I’m hoping to make those charts available soon--the body, sleeves, and individual charts--but I want to make sure it’s okay with the folks who own it before I get myself and Ravelry in trouble.

I knit this sucker in a week and a half because I knew that if I put it down, I wouldn’t pick it back up to finish it until sometime next year. I’m normally terrible about being monogamous with my projects. Just ask the many things on needles everywhere in my home.

Also! I tried to to do some ill-advised slip stitch thing with the moon and wound up just knitting one separately and appliqueing it on to cover the horrible mess I made of that part.
