I am zooming right along this time, with chart A, which is now in my head. It will get more challenging again with chart B. I acquired a second skein of yarn, just-in-case, from Beccas, but I hope I don’t need it, because it is very different from the skein that I started with!
Sep 7: My remaining ball of yarn is getting pretty small. It’s going to be a nerve wracking finish. Two days ago, I thought I had a major error, with not enough stitches in one section, and too many stitches in the adjacent section. Fortunately I decided to go to bed and look at again in the morning, before ripping back. In the morning I discovered that the marker had slipped one stitch over. Moral of the story: don’t do anything rash when it’s late in the evening!
Sep 11: I have six rows left, plus the crochet bind off. The last row used 2 grams of yarn, and I only have 7 grams left. I’ve sent a message to someone with a skein in their stash, that looks like it’s closer to the color of mine, to see if I can arrange a trade.
Sep 19: shortly after my last update, I realized that I was definitely running out of yarn, and that I had added one more section to this Haruni than I had last time. Since I quite liked the size that one turned out to be, I decided to rip back a section (which accounted for nearly half of my yardage), and now I’m back to having just a couple of rows before the bind off. I have a nice fat little ball of yarn, so the knitting is stress free. I do want to knit a full size Haruni at some point, but will be sure to have an adequate amount of yarn before I start!
Sep 21: Completed and blocking. It looked really small, until it soaked in Soak. Now that it’s pinned out it looks like a very nice size. I would, however, like to make one with the correct number of repeats! Next time!
