Notes

Here’s how to make a doll by piecing together already existing patterns:

The human (upper) portion of the doll was made following the Bluette Doll Pattern at Beth Webber’s blog www.byhookbyhand. Stop at the bottom of the torso and close the body cavity with a row of singles (don’t attach legs). The arms were made using the new method of adding a jointed wrist. Also on the blog. I even made the butt crack which peeks out above the tail.

For the tail, I changed hook sizes to G and followed the Forget Me Knot Kids Mermaid tail pattern. I sewed the tail to Sherbet’s body leaving a bit of her butt sticking out.

Since the upper portion of the doll is a Bluette, you can use the doll clothes patterns that Beth has designed for this doll. Or you can design your own.

Have fun and make pretty things.
