Bought this book awhile ago and it’s been sitting in my library patiently waiting to be picked up.

This being said, I am also a big fan of Isabelle Kessedjian. I follow her blog as well as her Flickr photos. Not only are her dolls adorable, but her artwork, drawings and photos are quite wonderful. Her dolls have an innocent quality to them, which I find endearing.

DOLLY NOTES: It is my habit to make slight changes to patterns to suit my own taste. But I try to keep the integrity of the original pattern. After making the first torso and legs, I frogged it. I wanted my doll to be more flexible, without armature, and opted for a leg up/torso method. This creates an indent where the legs meet the body allowing the doll to have swingy legs and to be able to sit. I also gave her a foot. The first 2 rounds of the foot are stitched in the BL only. When the legs and torso are finished pick up 6 free stitches and sc 3 rows. Do it again for the other free stitches. Stuff lightly using the yarn ends and sew the foot shut. For the arms, I am giving her a bobble thumb on round five. I used a 20mm doll joint in the neck, which will give her a movable head. I am making the doll hair from a fat quarter piece of cloth. Cut in about 1/8” strips.
