Notes

As usual knitting a 64 stitch sock.

Umbrella toe knits up a dream. Will use this in more socks.

Sock 1 knit to 70 rows (7.25” from cast on point) of main colour and marked placement of foot. 10 rows for cuff after knitting a further 35 rows for leg.

After both tubes are knit I have 16g (from a 50g skein) of main colour left and 10g (from a 20g skein) of contrast.

For some reason I knit the second sock longer in the foot and it is a better fit. I knit to 7.75” roughly. I also messed up the second heel placement but fixed the holes in the corners with some nifty weaving in of ends. This was completely my error rather than the pattern.

I have been wearing these socks recently and they are a great fit. I have not found an afterthought heel particularly well fitting in the past - this heel changes that. Will now knit more socks using this technique.
