Bobble Edge :
Basically, this edge is made with chains and bobble stitches. Two bobbles are connected with a slip stitch to make the little balls.

Begin with a slip stitch into your project wherever you want to start.

Chain 8, dc 3 together in the 5th chain.
Chain 3, dc 3 together in the end of the first bobble.
Now, you should have 5 chains, and two bobbles. Slip stitch into the 5th chain - where you started the first bobble, to form the two into a little ball.
Chain 5, slip stitch into your project, repeat.

December 21, 2013 - Finally completed! So happy with the results!!

Working on the edge - it’s taking about 2 1/2 - 3 hours just to do one side! Holy cow! Decided it needed something really fun, and was excited to find this bobble stitch. Slow - but totally worth it.

October 17, 2013 Update

Colors have definitely expanded beyond the Stylecraft Special Colour Pack. All the yarn is Stylecraft, but there are at least 34 colors in this project! It will probably be easier to name the 10 or 11 colors I didn’t use!

396 squares…. 18 in a row, 22 rows… I’ve completed 6 1/2 rows so far.

Intentional randomness in placement - but equal numbers of inside colors and outside colors.

Two round squares - Insides - I don’t remember how many of each. 12 each of 33 outside colors.

Connecting as I go with the white rounds. Once all are connected, I plan to make a fat border of white, and then incorporate rounds of some of the colors, and more white. But we will see what really happens.

Using up those little bits of leftover yarn. Right now, I’m making tiny squares. The centers are 4 clusters of 4 DC with a single chain in between. The second row establishes the corners - 2 sets of 4 DC in each, with 1 chain between the sets.

Yarn - Stylecraft Special DK, currently all the colors are from a 17 colour pack, although that could change.
