I just whipped these up for a five-year-old’s birthday present….. I used Red Heart and was having trouble getting Fair Isle to look good, so I ended up just knitting plain green mitts and duplicate stitching on the creeper logo.

I re-jiggered the pattern so that the thumbs were on the sides of the mitts rather than the palms. I had a bad experience before when I knitted mittens with the thumbs on the palms and then embroidered on the backs of the hands— the embroidery looked all wonky and yanked sideways when the mittens were worn. Thumbs do not grow out of the palms of our hands, so i’m not sure why patterns place them there!
