Knit this fellow in a real rush! Was out in Pahrump, NV (USA) visiting my daughter and her kids. Granddaughter Sierra loves stuffed animals! I had a lot of fun making this sweet guy for her (she picked out the yarn, a bernat baby yarn from walmart, lost the label). I was not enjoying picking up stitches so I knit each section separately and sewed them together. I did, however, pick up the stitches for the ears. I knit them differently, though. Picked up stitches at an angle rather than vertically, and worked the ears in garter stitch. I increased at outside edges, throwing in a few central increases, then finished with some short row shaping.

Bottom pic is Sierra with all the stuffed animals I have made for her so far- lobster, bunny, elephant, and three wee rabbits.
