HINDSIGHT, I WOULD HAVE KNIT THIS TOP DOWN!!!

5.18.09: Having to do MAJOR changes. I find it hard to believe that Rustic Wool is aran weight. Seems closer to DK if you ask me. The person who I am knitting this for is super tiny and I really think the small is still too big. Haven’t quite figured out how to do the sizing. Working on a gauge swatch and will then go from there. One thing I do know is that I will be working this in the round. Just Say NO To Seaming!!

6.10.09: The only thing that is the same about this pattern is the way it will look in the end. Otherwise, everything is different. If anyone out there in ‘Knit Land’ wants to make this dress in a size XS using worsted/aran weight, drop me a line and I can give you basic instructions. I have re-written the entire pattern.

8.4/09: DONE and very happy to be done. Well, still have to sew on the buttons but that’s not technically knitting :) All in all this dress was really easy to knit, it was just a lot of stitches, therefor time consuming. I have to say though, KNIT THIS FROM THE TOP DOWN. If I knew it wouldn’t take me another 4 months to complete I would rip it all out and do it top down. This way you can try it on as you go and would not have to worry about any seaming. Having followed the pattern somewhat I noticed that in order to get the neck line even one would have to be really meticulous. I did the crocheted edge which helped but it is still not perfect.

I hope my friend loves her new dress!!
