Finally started this - it is going to take a while. 260 cm of fabric, 305 stitches on the needle…..

But so beautiful!

Nearly a year after first casting on, I’ve pulled it back to the beginning and started again. The problem was that the cast-on was too tight, even though I used the lace cast-on. It wasn’t going to show in any way in the finished curtain, but it was continuing to bother me and I wasn’t happy to continue and leave it that way.

So I pulled it all back, and cast on again using the e-wrap cast-on. Working 300+ stitches of KSH from that particular cast-on was an interesting task to say the least.

Now all I need to do is all the rest of it….

I’m using Techknitter’s Back Join to eliminate all the ends, and it is working just beautifully. Much better than weaving in as you go, which is what I was doing with my first attempt.

I do believe this is now my method of choice for joins involving colour changes.

March 2012 and I am picking this up again after a very, very long break. The colours are a joy, and I am enjoying the KSH. Just 60 more rows and I shall be on to the lace section - it feels as if this may take me the rest of my life to complete….

April 2012, and I have started the lace section. Onward….
