Made with three different kinds of sock yarn and added a crocheted edge. The stitch I used (I am not sure what this is called, perhaps the Sand Stitch? The pattern was in Stockinette Stitch):

Row 1 - #k1,p1#;
Row 2 and 4 - p;
Row 3- #p1, k1#.
