Grape Hyacinths from the garden, in the fridge for almost three days (68-70 hours).
The sock yarn and embroidery cloth were 17 grams together, the muscari bells I used weighted a bit more than twice that.
In a ziploc bag (as I don’t have a dye pot) with 1 gram (next time 2, it should be 15% of the weight of the dyestuff) alum.
First added cold water to the frozen grapes, when they no longer popped I added the yarn and cloth and zipped it close.
Steamed it for an hour, let it rest for another five. Started at noon, so the pic with the colorless bells is from 6 at night. That is when I took out the sock yarn, heated it in the microwave for 2 min on 700 W just to be sure the color would take to the yarn.
Removed the embroidery cloth the next day at noon. Same thing with the microwave.
Very happy with the sea green sock yarn and the baby blue embroidery cloth!
