Notes

The store where I work just started carrying doll joints, eyes and noses so I’m making this little cutie for a store display.

The yarn we wanted to feature is too light for the large doll parts we carry so I’m holding it double. Double with a 6mm hook is making him just big enough to use the joints.

He’s gonna be cute but he’s reminding me why I gave up most of my crochet in favour of knitting….my hands and wrists are killing me.

The yarn looked to be a mottled/heathered pale brown & beige with hints of grey but worked up it looks dominantly grey. The red also appears to have lost its heathering when worked up.

Mar 12 :
My bear is a little over-due and Ive run out of yarn before making his ears & slippers. Need an extra ball of brown/grey and a ball of red for two tiny little pieces.

I’m struggling with his feet, he seems to have 2 left feet and 2 oddly-shaped, right slippers. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with the slipper. I think I’ll have to design my own. I was really hoping to turn him in tomorrow, guess that’s not going to happen.

March 19: finally finished, added a little tushy flap to give him the traditional Stanfield red jammies. I modified the slippers, for some reason the pattern slippers kept twisting and getting misshapen.

He’s pretty cute. Dh just loves him. I know he’ll be very popular at the store. He goes on display tomorrow.

More and better photos to come.

Dh decided that with a sleeping cap he should have an 18th century name and he came up with Baldwin. We like it, and he seems to like it too!

March 27: he’s been looking sad & lonely hanging around the store and the nights must get a little scary, so i knit up a little bunny friend for him. He seems happier now.

Oct. I love 29: Hey, little Baldwin way featured on the facebook page of AmigurumiPatterns.net!
