Hem finished. I’m bypassing the pockets because I’m preserving the yarn. I need to ensure I have enough for cuffs, collar, and edging. After the cast on, I went totally away from the pattern. Because I’m striping I opted out of the front placket edging. This is totally going to be a different sweater than the pattern.

Swatched the stripes and I’m in lurve! Ok, so my gauge is 5sts x 6rows / inch. This is very different than the pattern. So, I recalculated my cast-on, dart points, etc. This is adding extra time, but I don’t wanna waste time by not getting it right before I start knitting.

See, I’ve been dreaming of the sleeve of a purple tone-on-tone cardi for months now. Every time I peek at the tosh & BA in my stash I sigh and imagine myself wearing it.

So, I knit up a sample toying around with the way the 3 yarn colors might play together. I’m tickled with it and know it’s a winner because everyone sucks in their breath and says, “Ooooooo” when they see the sample. Goodie, goodie, gum drops! I’m on to something good!

Then, when I saw Carol’s new sweater pattern I percolated on it with stripes for a while. I know her patterns are well written and look good on curvy gals like me as I just finished Iced. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t feel larger than I am by making it in stripes. So, I think I’m good! Off to get started!
