Notes

I’m so glad this one turned out, as I took a few gambles.

First, I used a sock yarn, so my guage was way different than what the pattern called for. I wanted to use up some yarn in my stash and decided I wouldn’t mind if the finished cardi had more of a lace look, because of the thinner yarn. I cast on for the largest size possible. I think it turned out a little small, so I plan to reblock it slightly bigger.

Because I used such a lightweight yarn, I ran into trouble around the neckline. It was way too open and wouldn’t hold it’s shape. So, I picked up stitches along the front edge, and added some ribbing and buttons. It turned out to be just what it needed! Now it stays around my neck and doesn’t fall off the shoulders.

I enjoyed this lace pattern and the way that it utilizes a double decrease in the center instead of having to do two seperate decreases for each repeat. However, it was a challenge to figure out the decreases for the armholes and neckline, while in the lace pattern.
