Notes

This is my second City and Guilds project.

There will be 12 colours for the background, shaded from dark red up through orange, to yellow and finally a bit of lime green at the top of the shoulders. I am using superwash bluefaced leicester yarn and have dyed all the colours myself (and a few extras which I decided didn’t work in the colour scheme).

It will be worked in the round from the bottom up. The sleeves are set-in and the yoke will be worked in one piece.

I have finally cast on for the real thing, and cast on again after knitting the edging on the wrong number of stitches.

The first sample shows possible colours, and colour combinations. The second shows possible stitch patterns, based on Turkish designs from the Anatolian Knitting Designs book by Betsy Harrell.

The detail shot shows the underarm graft.
