14/07/14: on my 15th Hex, only 6 weeks til it needs to be finished - argh!

27/07/14: decided to make 19 hexes, and have them arranged in a hexagon shape, with a centre piece - the one I really didn’t want to make another of…! That means I have one left to finish knitting, 3 to block, lots of ends to sew in, lots of grafting to do and a load of live stitches that need to become a border somehow!

05/08/14, nearly all grafted together, I started on Saturday morning and only had 3 more to do by Sunday night - and I did do a few other things at the weekend but not a lot! 1.5 last night and 1.5 more to go tonight.

Then it’s onto the border debate. Do I do an attached i cord bind off, or do I knit a garter border on using something like co10, k9 k2tog, turn, k9 slp1? Mum thinks it should be in the darkest colour and I think she is probably right, but I don’t have much dark left. I’m going to regret doing it in off white I can tell, but I have so much off white left it would be a waste not to use it.

08/08/14: 8 more free evenings to work on this. 30 edges total, 27 to go - can it be done! I have gone with the attached garter border, see bottom picture. This requires short rows at the corners, but that’s not too hard to figure out - I had to add 10 stitches on the outtie corners and take away 10 on the innies!

15/08/14 17 or 18 edges done, over half way round the border, fingers crossed I will get this done.
