The wonderful Poshies came to my rescue when I was looking to recreate a top I wore to a wedding back in 1972. Not only did they find this pattern for me, but found extra skeins of Posh Sylvia Aran from one Poshie.

Using 6mm needles so cast on 57 sts instead of 65 for the back.

Worked first four rows in garter stitch instead of adding crochet rows at the finish. I have yet to work out how to do this for the armholes.

Am really loving the way the yarn is knitting up in this project.

I knew the difficult part would be the piecing together - and so it is proving. Can’t help but worry that my cak-handed attempts are making a mess of what is otherwise a lovely garment in lovely yarn.

Finally finished piecing together. Blocking made a huge difference.
Going to bind the seams with cross-grained ribbon to stop the curling.
