Notes

WeavingMeHome workshop 18 - 19 April

18th

Learned how to warp a Kromski fixed heddle (8”)
Learned that not all yarns are suitable for warping.
Learned that Posh Sylvia Sock is slippery.

19th

It’s off the loom and just in need of finishing off the fringes and steeping in a bath.

I’m pleased with my first weaving session. I think my edges would have been neater and my weaving more balanced if I’d used a base with more ‘wool’ in it for the warp.

It was lovely to see how Posh Sylvia wove its own tweedy pattern, even if it is a little wobbly in places and the selve-edges have a mind of their own.

WeavingMeHome workshop is highly recommended.

20th

Knotted the fringe and steeped in bath. I may finish by hem stitching the top of the fringes.
Needed to hem one end as the last weft line started to slip.

8 dent heddle, on 8” Kromski Forte.
