Notes

I have made up this cowl using three colours of locally bought Shetland wool from Jamieson and Smith - Shetland Supreme jumper weight white and Jamieson’s Spindrift - Madder and Tartan.

These colours remind me of the landscape where I live, and the name of the pattern is a place which I travel past on walks and as I drive out the road where you reach the top of the hill above Heylor. The views up at Da top of da Skorde are magnificent whatever the weather.

I have been using the cowl pattern in my first ever Fair Isle knitting class and the second picture shows one of the class members version of my pattern and the other cowls were knitted up following my charts - using their own choices of patterns and colours. We’ve only had two evenings so far - such good progress being made.
