Only my 2nd attempt at fair isle knitting and not impressed with myself. The skull is not as round as in the pattern picture.

Knit for good friends that are artists and love skulls(not my favorite). They are expecting a baby boy in January. I cast on 70 stitches for newborn size with smaller yarn and needles. Looks like it will be a good fit for newborn. At about 3 rows after finishing the skull I began decreases with k2tog every 10th and 9th stitch, then alternated a knit row in between decrease rows. I added a pompom to increase baby beanie appeal.
