I have made several knit and crochet stethoscope cozies over the years in a variety of yarns.

Stethoscope tubing can become brittle over time with exposure to natural oils from the skin, and they are expensive pieces of equipment that need to be well maintained.

No matter what form my stethoscope cozies take, whether knit or crochet, fingering weight yarn or acrylic, they always elicit compliments from colleagues and patients alike.

The cozies take very little time to make and are great for busting through my stash of odds and ends. They are also great practice for knitting in the round using dpns.
