11/2/13: started swatching.
3 mm needles gives me a gauge of 31 st for 10 cm. I need to go up a needle size. 3.25 should do the job…
14/2/13: cast on for ribbing with 2.75 mm needles.
I am in love with this (75) shade of Jamieson & Smith!
3/3/13: just started the 6th pattern repeat… It is a joy to knit!
21/3/13: I did reach the armholes! Hooray!
25/3/13: pffff… had to frog about 5 cm, because I messed up the patternrepeat! That happens a lot when I go knitting with the ladies and gents of our knitting club…
I am always tempted to start something new, but Ursula seems to have a big attraction to go on knitting. I love the fairisle design. Thanks Kate Davies!
2/4/13: pattern repeats almost finished! can’t wait to cut those steeks and try it on, sleeveless. Hope the sleeves are as big a joy to knit as the body…
6/4/13: I cut the steeks and am ready for those sleeves!
7/4/13: started one sleevecap (3 mm needle). I have almost finished the shortrows, but now I see that I have more stitches left on one needle… grrr… this was knittingclub knitting again! Lesson for next time: take only straight knitting to the knitting club!
I Don’t know if I will go on and have a slightly a-symetric sleevecap or frog. Maybe it will not show, as the difference is only 4 stitches. The total amount of stitches is right. The strange thing is I cannot see where it went wrong. It looks all fine and good.
Decided to go on with the sleevecap.
14/4/13: one sleeve almost finished.
19/5/13: 30 more sleeverows to go…
20/5/13: yes!!! done!!! blocking right now. Sewing buttons and buttonribbon tomorrow.
The vintage glass buttons I found at Loop in Islington, London. they are a bit heavy, so unbuttoned it doesn’t give a nice effect, but i am happy wearing this cardgan buttoned up. The necklace I bought with Ursula in mind. It comes from georgievinsun’s etsy shop.link text
