Notes

Beware of this scarf - the very thing that makes it so interesting and pretty also takes forever to knit. The linen stitch is a very dense stitch. It’s very beautiful but it does take a long time to knit up.

I cast on 399 stitches, placing a stitch marker every 50 stitches, so it would be easier to count how many stitches I had. I’m using a 40” US8 circular needle.

Beginning this was a little difficult because I wasn’t sure weather I was knitting correctly. Once you get going and can see the pattern, it’s easier. You just have to be able to see what stitch you are knitting over - remember to knit or purl over the slipped stitches, not over the knit and purl stitches. This creates the linen pattern. Once you get going, it’s actually very fast knitting and fairly mindless.

Each row takes about 20 minutes to knit.

I used 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces and the scarf ended up about 8.5” wide.

Be sure to bind off loosely or you will have a warped edge to your scarf. I thought I bound off loosely, but I still had a somewhat warped edge.
