Notes

I love this pattern. What an interesting construction of a star. It takes me about 90 minutes to knit a whole star. You knit two sides and sew them together. Very easy.

There is a little mistake in the pattern, though. When I first tried to make a star, this mistake tripped me up. It’s small, but it matters. Row 19 should say “Skp, k2tog, turn”. The pattern has left off the “turn”. I was following it religously, and that was a mistake.

I did leave long tails to act as stuffing and it really does work well. I didn’t want a lot of stuffing, like polyfill, so the ends work well. The longer the tails you leave, the plumper the star. And no ends to weave in!

After I knitted two sides, I soaked them and then blocked them flat on a towel. When they were dry, I sewed them together. I ended up crocheting a little chain on top so I could use a ribbon to hang them.

Each star took my about an hour and a half.
