It’s magical the way the yarn is dyed and turns into pictures of sheep as you’re knitting. The difficulty is trying to get the exact needle size and then getting the stitches to line up to match the graph in the pattern. Sometimes I had to knit looser, sometimes I had to tighten up the stitches. The pictures of the sheep on my socks aren’t perfect, but to me, are close enough.
I made a few changes:
A. Instead of the ruffled white edge at the top of the sock I cast on in white, then did two rounds in k2, p2 ribbing. Then, I knit one round in black and finished the cuff with k2, p2 ribbing. Size US 1/2.25mm needles were used.
B. For the leg I used size US 1.5/2.5 mm needles. It was a challenge to get the sheep lined up as in the graph in the pattern but I’m pleased with the result.
C. The socks were going to be too large for my narrow feet so I switched to size US 0/2.0 mm needles and did my usual short row heel in black, and a plain foot in green, switching to black for the toe.
03.28.2018 - The socks are finished and turned out well. I’ll be posting an FO picture as soon as they are blocked. The kit had a generous amount of yarn, as you can see by the leftovers in the bottom picture.
