Spun compost batts from Hobbledehoy (around 6-7oz) DK weight and plied with a black lurex/rayon thread.
Bought the component yarn- a variegated solid teal from Downtown Knits, dyed by my friends :) Going up to size 8 needles since my yarn is a bit bulkier than the pattern calls for.

6/4/12 Shawl is going well. Pattern is VERY easy to remember.. even for a beginner and it’s a great way to learn increases!

6/30/12 Carried it with me all over Amsterdam and knit a row whenever I had a chance.. at the airport, on the plane, at the pub on the train.. LOL!! I will not eat green eggs and ham…. LOL!!

7/6/12 I’m over a quarter of the way done with the repeats.. now that I’m home it’ll take the backburner while I get ready for Yarnival and Stitches Midwest, but I will knit on the plane to Cali and to Chicago.. I hope to have it done by Oct.. when I could actually wear it here in NC!

7/24/12 Home from California. I knit and relaxed on my friend Lexi’s porch pluckyfluff for a wonderful day after the festival.
HOWEVER.. I did learn, thanks to also hanging out on the porch with amazing knitter Vithard that I purl incorrectly (who knew? I taught myself…) and my purl stitch is twisted. We did decide it looked cool though (Well.. he decided before I ripped it all out in despair, and I trust his opinion as what he knits is amazing.. ) and I will continue the rest of the shawl in my “new” Twisted Purl Stitch..
I also promised to knit 2 rows (one repeat) every day.. I will like it…
9/3-
Finished the main body. Vithard taught me the stitches pattern for the border, so I’m going to start that tonight. Plan on adding a few more rows
9/4- DONE and Blocking! I love it! I added 2 more rows to the yarn b section, then did another 4 rows with yarn 4 and then cast off.
More photos coming soon!
