Notes
  • Couldn’t get row gauge with the yarn i wanted to use for this project. So i’m making modifications to adapt the pattern to the yarn, measuring instead of counting rows.
  • Instead of garter stitches, use 2/2 ribs at the base of the sleeves / body.
  • On the last ribbing round, added 1 extra stitch between 2 knit st. on each side of the body = purled seam stitch (decreased on the last round before Guston Cable Rib pattern)
  • Picked up directly the 8 stitches for the button placket at the base of the 8 stitches where the buttonholes will be placed (to avoid sewing…).
  • For the buttonholes, used the method shown in a japanese book for making cables
  • Shoulder shaping with short rows + three needle bind off = no sewing.
  • only 4 buttons/buttonholes.

Edit: 05.10.2012: Unfinished Guston slept a long time…
Today, i weaved the ends in and blocked the finished sweater. Now, he is drying, and i have to find 4 buttons.

Edit: 27.10.2012: Buttons found…Buttons sewed on (thank you G.)…
I’m sooo happy!
