Seems a shame to hide that Northman under a phone cozy, but my sister insisted that I knit one for her Samsung after I made one for my iPhone.

Technical details:

knit from the top down

I cast on 36 stitches over 3 dpns, knit in a 1x1 twisted rib for 10 rounds then switched to the corkscrew pattern:

Round 1: M1 so as to leave a gap, SSK, K to end of needle (repeat 2 more times)
Round 2: K all
Round 3: K1, M1, SSK, K to end
Round 4: K all
Round 5: K2, M1, SSK, K to end

You get the idea..moving the SSK stitches from needle to needle is a bit tricky but not too hard.

When I completed 3 rotations of the corkscrew (SSK stitch has traveled to the end of each needle 3 times), I redistributed the stitches evenly between two needles and kitchnered the bottom.

You could easily reverse the pattern by knitting to the last two stitches, K2tog, YO … or even zig zag it.
