Notes

Cast on 30 stitches (10 per needle). Joined and worked in the round.

Worked in 1x1 twisted rib for awhile.

To get make it snugger, I thought I’d do a little cable on each needle, but then I ended up going to my parent’s house to see my godparents who made a surprise visit for new year’s and once there I realized I forgot to bring a cable needle so instead, I traveled one single stitch across the 10 needles every other row.

Once I got to the end of the needle, I knit to the last 2 stitches and knit the last 2 together then picked up the bar to replace the missing stitch.

I picked up the bar in such a way that I got a hole in the pattern when I knit the next round. I decided it looked good and continued it. I like the diagonal of the bar stitch over a YO, plus the bar increase provides for more negative ease.

So I finished that slant and I replaced my traveling stitch with a SSK slant with a matching bar increase (to get the hole: when you lift the bar, make sure the bar is in the front on the left needle).

The last two pictures look yellow, but I assure you the yarn is orange. :)

OK, pattern for US size 3 dpns:

  • Twisted Rib pattern: K1 through back loop, P1
  • M1 - with left needle lift the bar from the between the active stitches such that the yarn is on the front side of the needle, then knit the bar

CO 30.
Arrange 10 stitches per needle.
Join in the round.
Knit in twisted rib pattern for 10 rounds.

Rearrange stitches placing 15 on two needles.
Kitchner (graft) stitches together.
Weave in ends and all done!

I’m gonna knit another one in a multi-colorway and see how it turns out.
