Motif in Cotton Supreme measures 7.75 inches at widest part and 7 inches in height

My blanket should be about 35 x 43 inches (excluding tassels)

Motif weighs 25.5g

Estimate of yardage:
25.5g x 32 hexagon motifs = 816g
12.75g x 6 half hexagon motifs = 76.5g
816g + 76.5g = 892.5g total

I used a G hook for the first motif I made with Cotton Supreme but it was too floppy. The motifs look best with rather tight stitches so that the braid in each corner isn’t too loose. An F hook seemed just about right for me.

I decided to JAYGO the motifs in the order the pattern describes, but I skipped the motifs I planned to do in color, leaving a hole for each. After I’ve crocheted and joined all the white motifs, I’ll whipstitch the colored motifs in place.

Sewing them in, instead of using JAYGO, should ensure that the edge of each colored motifs is uniform.
