This is going to be a year-long MKAL, should be fun! I just LOVE TML, so how could I resist? I can’t get the Semi-Precious yarn club, but this is a perfect opportunity to get some unicorn tails in colors I have long wanted to have a look at. Of course, for stash busting I’ll also add in some TML I already have in stash.

Arghhh, it’s not gonna work! The pattern calls for 70 y of each yarn, and the unicorn tails only have 52. I’m glad I haven’t ordered yet. However… my mom just told me she’s going to dye odds and ends of her merino-silk blend. So maybe I can get some of that to make this shawl? Or I could make this an even longer-lasting project for using up future TML scraps. Given how much TML I have in my stash, I should have more than enough at some point, lol!

Started today! I used Plunge for the first color, then added Fathom. Starting weight of the skein Fathom was 105 g.
I decided not to wait until I have produced those leftovers (that might be years ahead…). Instead I turned to those sweater quantities I have had for years. I always bought way more than I’ll probably need for those sweaters anyway.

Started clue 3 today, using Badlands. (Starting weight 105g.) I love the knit quilt pattern, it looks great and is way easier to do than it looks. In fact, I find it quite relaxing.

Started and finished clue 4 today. I decided it was time for a bright green, the jade colorway. It seems to glow from the inside. Lovely!

Starting clue 5 today. I’m going to use the gorgeous Shire colorway I just bought. So yummy! Starting weight 110g.

Deep: 120g
Glazed Pecan: 17g
(Jade: 10g)
Oh, I love this clue! First thing I did was making the last set of stripes and eyelets complete by working a row of eyelets with color 5. I’m so glad I had not cut the yarn yet. ;-)
I’m going to add some sort of neutral color now, Deep. For the stripes I’m going to use leftovers of Jade and Glazed Pecan, I think. We’ll see!

I’ve had this in hibernation for the August and September clues. Not because I felt I might not finish this but to get an idea of how to do the striping and which colors to use. In the end, I just worked the stripes the way I felt like. I still got some very ordered and structured striping which I like a lot! I’m going to miss this when it’s done.

November clue is done. At first I just wanted to continue with the quilt pattern, but now I really, really love the way the three very different pattern blocks work together! It’s stunning already.

Yay, last clue - nearly done! I thought it would be a bit boring to just work four more repeats of the lace pattern. So did just two repeats, then worked another row 1. From then on I just knit a few rows in garter stitch and bound off knitwise on a ws row.
