11/8/2016:

Purchased this gorgeous yarn on Amazon so I could make DROPS Kara ponchette. (The first one I made I gave away to a young girl I met in my doctor’s office who had just been thrown out of her dad’s house by her stepmother and she had nothing but the clothes on her back-a tshirt and jeans only.) Definitely need to read further down instead of the title of the product because instead of getting 3 skeins of yarn at 328 yards each I ended up getting 3 skeins at 109 yards each for 328 yards TOTAL. No worries, I’ll just make Deirdre!

I’ve already cast on and it’s going so well and this yarn is simply delish. Can’t wait to finish it and block it and then see if it wants to stay with me or become a Christmas present!

I absolutely adore DROPS designs. They really have amazing pieces.

I loooove the finished project. It looks so good. And it’s super soft. The yarn is just a delight to work with. The only problem I had with the design was with the short rows. It didn’t specify what kind of short rows to do so I made German short rows which I liked better after trying wrap and turn as well as the slip and turn. Also the pattern isn’t clear whether to work the short rows after every right side row or on the last two rows of the chart. So I worked them after every right side, which I thought seemed correct but gives a super ruffly edge and is hard to block out. So, I’m making another Dierdre in a different yarn and working the short rows on the last two rows of the chart. We’ll see how that goes.
