Cast on yesterday (Sat Dec 10) for this new sweater. My plan is to have it for Florida/Iowa/Montana trip, I’m hoping it will be really warm!

12/17/11 - have made great progress!! Finished the body, and both fronts. Am now working on the sleeves - miles and miles of 2X2 rib. Will have to get back to some lace after I finish this one!! But I just LOVE the colors in this yarn and how they are knitting up - just gorgeous!!

12/23/11 - finished seaming sleeves & body, knit collar. The only thing left to do is install the zipper. Gorgeous sweater and great yarn, though the yarn is not the softest thing I’ve ever knit. But superwash yarn washes GREAT, washing machine & dryer, no problems!! Hope to do the zipper soon.

12/28/11 - nothing new to report, other than I took more pictures of the pieces being blocked.

12/30/11 - took a trip with Judy yesterday - Fabric Place Basement, Sewfisticated Fabrics (Natick/Framingham) - Basement had GREAT SELECTION! I found grosgrain ribbon in the right color for this sweater, and also the 22” coil zipper i’ve been looking for! Blocking the zipper band on the sweater today, then will start to sew in the zipper.

1/1/2012 - took most of the free time I had today, but finally got zipper sewn in, then covered with the grosgrain ribbon. Got hubby to take some pictures (need a different photographer, I’m afraid). Will try to get some closeups of the finish work posted soon.
