Notes

I wanted to make Boo a pair of really nice long-lasting socks. The Anne was in a very Boo-like colorway, and I was determined to make her socks that she would not wear out. The Anne was fine enough that I was able to work it at 12 stitches to the inch, which meant that the socks--sized, mind you, for a four-year-old--were 80 stitches around. But, hey, she’s my only daughter, I can knit thousands more stitches for her.

The finished socks were gorgeous. The mohair gives the Anne a lovely sheen, and the colors were beautiful, just the thing for the discerning pre-schooler.

The only problem was that they itched. Boo loved them, and put them on at once, but she only wore them one time before refusing to wear them again, saying that they were itchy. Well, live and learn. They’re still beautiful, and I’m still glad to have made them for her.
