started on 3.5 mm needles because I know I usually have to go down a size to get gauge. Got the whole neck done and started the yoke before I realized that the place I was changing skeins was going to make a line that looked like a seam and it wasn’t in a good place. Checked the guage on the little bit of stockinette I had on the back and it was more like 22 st/4 in.

So, ripped and went up to 3.75mm needles, figured out where the raglan seams were going to be from the start and put the yarn change there (at the back neck). I’m alternating all 3 balls as I go in a spiral so there are 2 change points in a round.

The gauge is still more like 22 but I’m sticking with it because I like the fabric. I should probably try it on to make sure there is enough slack in the size I’m knitting for it not to be a problem.

Hmmm, thinking about the pattern measurements, I might want to add some shaping to accommodate my hips. Maybe even that short row shaping from Thea Coleman’s

Jan 6: almost finished 2nd sleeve when I noticed that the dog had chewed on the back neck. Damn him. Will need to figure out a fix.
